What have you done with the “key of knowledge” that God has entrusted to you?

What have you done with the “key of knowledge” that God has entrusted to you?

In Luke 11:52, Jesus said ““Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering.”

What did Jesus mean by this? The key of knowledge is something that unlocks what otherwise is hidden and not accessible.

The keys to the door of knowledge about God is in the Scriptures. An example of this would be the Roman Catholic church which before the time of Reformation in the 15th Century, defiantly and determinedly refused to allow the common man direct access to the Scripture.

Only the Catholic Priest could read and explain the Scripture – and to make things worse, the Scripture was not in the common language of the people but limited to Latin, Hebrew and Greek, which most people could not read or understand.

It was Tyndale, Wycliffe, Luther and others who led the charge against the damnable ways of the Catholic chruch and often at the cost of martyrdom, translated and published the Scripture in the language of the common man.

Each of us have access to the keys to the door of knowledge about God through His Word.

When we teach others about what we know about God from the Bible, we are using this key of knowledge appropriately.

So when did you last use the key of knowledge in sharing about God to another?
