Have you been grateful to the “wisdom of God” in your life?
In Luke 11:49, Jesus said “Because of this, God in his wisdom said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and others they will persecute.’
It is said God sends prophets and apostles to “afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted”. Prophets and apostles in Bible history always challenged the lukewarm faith or the unrighteous ways of God’s people.
Prophets and apostles sent by God always unapologetically and unabashedly rebuked sin and pointedly called people to repentance.
And it was the “wisdom of God” which sent them. It was because of His love and mercy that these prophets and apostles showed up in each generation, to expose sin and bring God’s people back to righteous living.
But often these prophets and apostles suffered at the very hands of those who God has sent them too. They were rejected, refused and even viewed as repulsive in their respective generations.
What a Kingdom irony that those whom the “wisdom of God” sent should be treated so badly, shamefully and spitefully.
And in the following verses Jesus warned about the terrible consequences of refusing and rejecting those whom the “wisdom of God” had sent.
Rejecting those whom God has sent will be disastrous – sooner than later!
Will you be grateful to those who expose sin in your life or will you refuse and reject them?
