Is your eye healthy or is it diseased?
In Luke 11:34, Jesus said “Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness.”
A healthy eye seeks the good of others. It seeks to bless and build others up. When Peter and John were at the gate of the temple and saw the lame man, their eye was filled with love and compassion. And out of that heart, they were able to heal the lame man in Jesus name (Acts 3:6)
In 1Sa 18:9, we read “And Saul eyed David from that day and forward”. Saul’s eye of envy and jealousy was the cause of the immense persecution David suffered thereafter.
A healthy eye makes life easy for others. A diseased eye wrecks havoc, ill-will and confusion where ever it is present.
