Will you secure yourself or allow Jesus to secure it for you?
In Luke 9:25, Jesus asked, “For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?”
A blunt, direct and a logical question!
Man’s pursuit of wanting to acquire wealth or power or fame has always been a powerful driver.
We invest our lives to secure ourselves by wanting to acquire as much as we can, as fast as we can!
Jesus warns that such pursuits are eventually self-defeating.
To acquire things externally to only become hollow and empty and soul-less within, is simply meaningless!
Preserving, nourishing and securing one’s soul is more paramount than buying up all the gold in the world!
And when a disciple of Jesus follows willing to abandon himself to Jesus care, His promise is that “he shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life”. (Matt 19:29)
Are you willing to make this trade-off with Jesus?
No one who did, ever regretted it!
