So close, yet so far….
In Luke 8:44, we see how power (dunamis in Greek) flowed out of Jesus to this woman only (who was having an issue of blood), despite the crowds thronging and pressing around Him.
Why would this be the case? Should not that power have also flowed out to every single person who touched or pressed against Jesus at that time?
Why was she the only recipient?
What made her the only one who was capable of receiving this life-giving power that flowed out of Jesus body?
Like water, power flows from a higher level to a lower level. Even in the field of electric currents, electrical power flows from a higher potential to a lower potential.
In a similar manner, we see only the woman was desperate enough to experience Jesus’ power. And she was not disappointed!
Whereas the crowds who pressed around him did not have any such desperation and hence Jesus power was unavailable to them.
Truly, they were so close, yet so far from experiencing the power of God!
Are you so close – and yet so far?
