Have you tried “holy desperation”?
In Luke 8:43 – 48, we see a woman who had an issue of blood experience a miraculous deliverance, when in her audacity she reached out and touched the hem of Jesus garment, being certain that she would be healed!
She was audacious because it was a taboo for her to touch a man when she was ritually impure. Yet, she was persistent and at the risk of public censure or even Jesus being annoyed with her, she reached out to touch the hem of his garment. And she was not disappointed!
Holy desperation never goes unrewarded. Heb 11:6 says “because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him“. Guaranteed!!
In the same vein, we see in Mark 10:46 blind Bartimaeus cry out ” Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me”, even though the crowds around asked him to shut up and hold his peace.
But the more they tried to shut him up, the louder he cried “Jesus, Son of David have mercy on me”. That is holy desperation.
When did you last cry out to God with such holy desperation?
