If you are filled with the Spirit of God, you will comfort some and discomfit others…

In Luke 8: 27-28, we see the first person to meet Jesus when he came on shore what a demon-possessed man who immediately claimed that Jesus was “tormenting” him.

In reality Jesus did nothing. He simply stepped on shore and immediately this man started to accuse Jesus of tormenting him! So what does this mean?

In our current context, you may have experienced how some people will irrationally hate you or avoid you despite you being kind and loving to them. Why is this so?

It is because demons can immediately identify those who are Spirit-filled, God-ordained and are anointed of God for His service.

We see the sons of Sceva the priest in Acts 19:15, trying to drive out demons and immediately the demons saw through their counterfeit spirituality and began to attack them.

And the demons responded saying, “Jesus I know, Paul I know but who are you?”

Amazingly demons know who is of God – and who is not. And demons will always use people to attack the people of God in some form or fashion.

When did you last face a backlash simply because you obeyed the Lord or did His will?

If you did, it is indeed a vindication you are a marked man, who is filled with His Spirit and someone the devil hates!
