Are we pitiful, compassionate and full of tender mercy?
Luke 6:36 says “Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful”, which is not a correct translation.
The word for mercy used in the Greek Bible is “eleeo”. But the Greek word used here is a more powerful expression than mercy/eleeo!
The Greek word used is “oik-tir-mōn” which means to be pitiful, to be deeply compassionate and to be full of tender mercy!
And when we are pitiful, deeply compassionate and full of tender mercy, only then we are like our Father in heaven!
Agape is so much easier when we are pitiful, deeply compassionate and full of tender mercy to those who hate us, do us evil and defraud us!
Will we intentionally practice to be more and more “pitiful, deeply compassionate and full of tender mercy”?
