* Jacques Ellul was a reformist theologian who is credited with coining the phrase "Think globally, act locally". During World War II, for his efforts to save Jews he was awarded the title "Righteous among the Nations" by Yad Vashem in 1981. He wrote extensively and warned about the emergence of the "tyranny of technology" over humanity. He also warned about the church increasingly looking like the world and assimilating its values unabashedly.
